Salt Restocked At Most Area Stores

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- As the plows hit the streets, it’s our job to clear our driveways and sidewalks and since this was our first big snowfall of the season a lot of people were at the store today, stocking up on the essentials to make the area around our homes safe.

Once again, just like Saturday, the big seller at Menards was salt. Most stores have restocked their shelves now after running out on Saturday. That meant long lines again with people stocking up.

Shoppers say they want to make sure their driveways are clear so they don't have any problems leaving for work in the morning.

"It took me an hour to get out of my driveway so if I don't clear out my shop, I’m not working tomorrow. I can't make it with my semi, with my semi out of my shop so you know, better clean out the driveway," Rudy Rodriguez, who bought 10 bags of salt, said.

The store's manager says when the store opened a lot of people were buying shovels and snow blowers.
