Saint Anthony College of Nursing Announces 100 Percent License Pass Rate

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Saint Anthony College of Nursing has announced that 100 percent of its December 2011 and May 2012 Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) licensing exam (nursing boards). There were 79 graduates in all.

A 100-percent first-attempt pass rate is an outstanding outcome. According to Terese Burch, PhD, president of the college, it is expected that less than 13 percent of the other BSN programs in Illinois will achieve a 100 percent pass rate. “This level of outcome is evidence of the strong curriculum, faculty, clinical experiences and readiness to practice as registered nurses,” Burch said.

Regionally and professionally accredited, Saint Anthony College of Nursing is a Catholic college that prepares students to become caring, professional nurses in acute care and ambulatory settings in beginning and advanced roles of the profession. Undergraduate students are admitted to the College of Nursing BSN program following the completion of 64 hours of lower division credits from a regionally accredited college or university. Undergraduates who are licensed as Registered Nurses (RNs) may complete their BSN through the College’s innovative RN-to-BSN Program.

The College’s MSN Program is open to RNs with a bachelor’s degree. Applicants may choose from one of four MSN tracks: Nurse Educator (NE), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). MSN prepared RNs may pursue a post master’s FNP, CNS or NE certification.
