Rockford's Labor Day Parade Up In The Air

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The fate of this years Labor Day Parade is up in the air after aldermen refuse to vote Monday night on the event's special use permit.

Some on the council are concerned that they're being asked to pay $100 to walk in the parade.

They don't agree with that since the city is paying for nearly $12,000s for barriers and police security along the parade route.

Rockford United Labor puts on the event and asks every politician or elected official to pay $100 dollars to participate.

A committee is trying to figure out a solution with organizers.
