UPDATE: Police Looking for Information in 1-Year-Old Hit and Run Case

BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- UPDATE: Belvidere Police are still looking for the person who killed a 72-year-old Rockford woman exactly one year ago today.

Around 4:30 a.m. on October 27, 2013, police were called to Beloit Road and West Hills Boulevard in Belvidere, where they say they found Lucy Sawyer-Ford of Rockford dead.

Police believe she had been walking on the roadway after her car had broken down when she was hit by another vehicle. That vehicle then took off.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for hitting a 72-year-old woman in Belvidere.

Officers were called to the area of Beloit Road and West Hills Boulevard in Belvidere early Sunday morning. That’s where they found Lucy Sawyer Ford of Rockford, dead. Authorities say she had been walking when she was hit by a car. The vehicle then took off.

Police say the death remains under investigation.
