ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford's unemployment rate is in double digits and the third worst in the state, but two local colleges are hoping to change that.
Rockford University and Rock Valley College held a job fair Wednesday. Nearly 40 local companies were on hand for the event. Everything from retail, manufacturing to health care. Students, alumni and job hunters were able to stop by different booths to get information about openings and internships. Organizers say its a great way for college students to get their foot in the door and learn more about their future careers.
Nearly 300 people stopped by RVC for the job fair.
