ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Rockford Rescue Mission will be able to help out more people in need after receiving a donation from the Kiwanis Club.
Rockford Rescue Mission received a $60,000 donation which will go towards expanding services from homeless woman and children. The fund will enhance the Mission's Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter and Life Recovery Program.
Executive Director, Sherry Pitney says many times they have to turn people away because their crisis center reaches capacity. The grant money will support the Mission's goal to consolidate the current crisis and recovery facilities onto the Mission's Hope Place campus.
