Rockford Police Looking for Suspects in Armed Robberies

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Police are looking for the people they believe are behind an attempted carjacking and an armed robbery.

The first happened around 6:45pm on Sunday in the Schnucks parking lot on Charles Street. Officers say the robbers pointed a gun at a man and demanded his keys, but got scared off by someone honking their horn.

Less than an hour later cops say a woman had her purse was stolen at gunpoint. That happened in the 1400 block of Jackson.

Police say there were possibly four people in the suspect’s vehicle. Again, they do believe the two incidents are connected.
