UPDATE: Rockford police are still investigating a fatal crash fatal that happened Friday on Rockford's northwest side, but we're learning now that the three man inside a mini-van that rolled over into a field were siblings and the driver was drunk, according to police.
The driver Jimmie Nelson, 40, died. The others Dale Nelson, 55, and Donald Nelson, 53, are expected to survive though both are still listed in critical condition.
Police say the group of was driving very fast down Kilburn Avenue in a blue mini-van before colliding with a black SUV and then violently rolling over in a open field after losing control.
All three men were ejected from the van. Police say this is just a case of reckless driving.
A 40-year-old man is dead and two others are in hospital after being tossed out of their van in violent rollover crash.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says Jimmie Nelson was killed in the crash. It all went down around 3:30 Friday afternoon on Rockford's west side.
Witnesses told police a blue minivan was speeding down Kilburn Avenue, when the driver blew through the stoplight on Central Avenue. The minivan then started weaving in and out of traffic before clipping this black SUV causing the mini van to roll over into the field.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt. Police say one man is in critical condition, the other injuries are considered serious.
Police say it seems the crash is a case of reckless driving, however, it's still under investigation.
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Police have closed the 2800 block of Kilburn Ave to investigate a fatal traffic crash.
According to witnesses and police, a blue minivan was heading down Kilburn at a very high rate of speed, blowing through the stoplight at Central and then weaving in and out of traffic trying to swerve to avoid a black SUV before clipping it and then losing control. The van then rolled over violently into a nearby field.
Three men inside the van were ejected during the accident. One man is dead and the other two were seriously injured. Police are not sure of their condition at this time. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
We asked police if they knew why the men were driving so fast and police say that by all accounts it appears it was simply a matter of reckless driving.
Neighbors in the area said that the stretch of road usually sees a lot of speeding drivers and a lot of walkers.
