Rockford Police Arrest Man on Narcotics Charges

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Within the past several weeks members of the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit have been investigating an individual who was delivering heroin around the west side of Rockford, mostly the downtown area. During the investigation detectives were able to identify the suspect as Dwayne I. Johnson. The investigation concluded on 4/8/13 with the arrest of Johnson during a traffic stop near the intersection of Huffman Blvd. and Halsted Rd. During the traffic stop several individual bags of suspected heroin as well as cannabis was located inside of Johnson’s vehicle. Johnson was charged with the below listed offenses and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.

Arrested: Johnson, Dwayne I. 44, Rockford
Charges: Delivery of less than 1 gram of heroin within 1,000 feet of a park, Delivery of less than 1 gram of heroin within 1,000 feet of a church, Delivery of 1-15 grams of heroin within 1,000 feet of a park, Possession with Intent to deliver 1-15 grams of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, Possession of 2.5-10 grams of cannabis.
Bond: No Bond (Felony charge, must be set by Judge)
