Rockford Police Arrest Burglary Suspects

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Just before noon on January 24, 2013, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Kishwaukee Street in reference to a burglary in progress. A concerned citizen notified police that two subjects crawled through the window of an abandoned business and then brought ladder through the window once inside. Investigating officers apprehended the two suspects, after they left the business, near the intersection of 5th Street and 5th Avenue.

Further investigation revealed the suspects used the ladder to reach an electrical box that was found pried away from the wall.

30-year-old Felipe Hernandez and 47-year-old Robert Rees were arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools.

The Police Department urges citizens to contact the police when they observe suspicious behavior. In this instance a call to police resulted in the arrest of two suspects.
