ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local orchard is trying to help save the lives of women with breast cancer.
For every carving pumpkin Curran's Apple Orchard sells starting today it will donate one dollar towards breast cancer research. The deal lasts through the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Pat Curran, Owner, Curran’s Orchard, says, "I think everybody knows somebody that's gone through the breast cancer experience and survived and I think it's important for everyone to become more aware of the breast cancer."
If you want to contribute to the cause you can stop by Curran's Orchard on Kilburn Avenue in Rockford from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. Fridays they open at 7 a.m. They have pre-picked pumpkins or you can take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and pick your own.
