Rockford Mayor to Present State of the City Address

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Tonight we’ll get an idea of what the city plans to do to make life better her in Rockford.

It seems every day, another life is permanently changed, whether it be by crime or drug overdose here in Rockford and for many of the people attending tonight’s state of the city address, they’re looking for answers on these topics as the mayor prepares to share his vision for a better Rockford today.

The mayor plans to speak about a number of items that folks have been touching in ward meetings leading up to tonight’s speech. These items include things like public safety, better communication within city government, improving the city’s infrastructure, educational change and improvements, just to name a few.

The Mayor plans to not only address how to fix these issues moving forwards, but he’ll be highlighting what improvements have been made over the last year.

The speech will start tonight at 6 p.m. and is free to the public.
