Rockford Man Sentenced for Escape

MADISON, WI (WIFR) -- The United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin announced that 42-year-old Brock Barrett of Rockford has been sentenced to six months in in federal prison, for escaping from a federal residential reentry center. Barrett plead guilty to this charge on April 15, 2014.

In Illinois in 2008, Barrett was convicted of having cocaine and trying to sell it as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 85 months in federal prison. On August 5, 2013, Barrett was transferred to Rock Valley Community Program, a halfway-house in Janesville, Wisconsin On November 23, 2013, Barrett was reported missing from Rock Valley and was later found and arrested in Rockford.

The charge against Barrett was the result of an investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
