Rockford Man Arrested in Connection to Three Armed Bank Robberies

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man has been arrested in connection to three armed robberies in the last three months.

Rockford Police say 52-year-old Pedro Cordero was arrested during a traffic stop on July 13.

Police believe he may be responsible for the armed robbery of BMO Harris Bank at 2500 South Alpine Road on July 12, 2014, the armed robbery of Associated Bank at 4400 Centre Terrace on June 2, 2014 and the armed robbery of U.S. Bank at 1100 East State Street on May 8, 2014.

Cordero has been lodged in the Winnebago County Justice Center in lieu of bond.
