Rockford Lutheran Schools Collect Donations for Rockford Rescue Mission

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Hundreds of people will now have warm bodies and full stomachs thanks to the help of Rockford Lutheran students.

The kids teamed up with Lou Bachrodt and First Northern Credit Union for a food and coat drive. The students collected not only coats and food, but also boots, shoes, socks, and sweaters. All those donations are going to the Rockford Rescue Mission.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the churches, the Lutheran churches in the area, schools in the area to be involved in greater community," Bob McVinnie, Alpine Academy Principal, said.

The drive is over but the Rescue Mission can always use donations.
