UPDATE: Follow-Up Investigation on Attempted Kidnapping

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- After further investigation of an attempted kidnapping, Rockford police have located a suspect and the suspect's vehicle.

The incident occurred this past Monday around 8 am when a man approached a group of girls near the intersection of Elm Street and Howard Avenue and attempted to lure them into his vehicle with candy.

At this time, no charges have been authorized, however the investigation will continue.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Police are investigating an alleged attempt to lure three young girls into a vehicle.

According to police, just after 8 a.m. Monday near Elm Street and Howard Avenue, witnessed reported a white man in his forties approaching a group of young girls. He then tried to convince them to get into his truck.

The suspect is described as unshaven. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat and a black jacket. The suspect vehicle is described as a green 1990s model Chevrolet pickup with a standard cab (similar to the vehicle in the photo).

The same suspect was also seen earlier this morning in the 200 block of South Central Avenue near Ellis Arts Academy.
