ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Christian Schools are getting a pretty decent check from Com-Ed for finding unique ways to save energy.
School leaders have been building wind turbines, PV panels and solar panels in their new Bertrand Science Technology and Humanities center.
In return for their energy-efficient installations, Com-Ed and Nicor presented the district with a check for just over $6,000 as part of their Smart Ideas program which helps businesses pay for energy-saving improvements.
