Rockford Bank Robber Sentenced to 9.4 Years

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man admits to robbing two local banks and a credit union back in 2010.

Delanio Benford, 34, was sentenced Friday to nearly 9.4 years in prison without parole. During the summer of 2010 he robbed the Associated Bank on Rockton Avenue, a PNC Bank on Riverside and the Members Alliance Credit Union on Olde Creek Road. Benford also has to pay $38,000 in restitution. Two other men arrested in connection to the robberies are also serving time.
