Rockford Area Sees Small Uptick in Gas Prices

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Average gas prices in the Rockford area have fallen close to three cents per gallon this week, averaging at $3.78 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, gas prices around Rockford are the same as last month and 33 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

The national average has increased to $3.68 per gallon by three cents per gallon this week. That's almost 10 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 19 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

"The price of WTI oil continues to rise to levels not seen in quite some time, and that may continue, at least for the time being, to put more upward pressure on gasoline prices," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst, in a press release.
