ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford's airport is giving us a pretty big bang for our buck. The Illinois Department of Transportation finds that Rockford has the third highest economic output for commercial airports statewide. That means we come in just behind Midway and O'Hare. According to the study, RFD generates nearly a billion dollars in economic impact, and supports just over 5,000 jobs in our community.
