ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- YWCA Rock County has hired Angela Moore as the new YWCA Executive Director.

Moore, a resident of Beloit, formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Girls Scouts of Badger Council for more than 15 years and brings significant experience in strategic planning, program management, resource development and non-profit leadership.

"Angela really stood out because of her years of experience as an executive director of a non-profit but also because of her commitment to community work, leadership qualifications, and passion for the YWCA mission," says YWCA Board President, Jenny Revels. "Her skills and her vision are very impressive and will certainly help the YWCA continue its success in helping women, children, and families." The executive director search committee consisted of YWCA board members and community members.

Angela has an Associate's degree in Legal Science and certification in non-profit management. She has served on the Beloit Board of Health, the Consolidation Board for the Rock County Health Department, Rotary Club of Greater Beloit, Zonta Club of Beloit, plus several other volunteer positions, and is an experienced facilitator for college classes in non-profit study.

Moore will begin her position January 13, and will oversee five core service programs of the YWCA and nearly 100 employees.

"The YWCA has such a rich history nationally and locally. I knew I wanted to be part of making a difference in the people's lives impacted by its work." says Moore. "I'm very excited and eager to join this amazing organization and continue its momentum of success."

YWCA Rock County is a not-for-profit United Way partner agency with the dual aims of eliminating racism and empowering women. The YWCA’s local programs address social issues of domestic abuse, child abuse and neglect, women’s economic empowerment, safe and affordable child care, and the needs of the immigrant community.
