Rochelle High School Freshman Gets Car for Perfect Attendance

ROCHELLE (WIFR) --Down in Rochelle one car dealership believes it has the perfect prize to reward a student's perfect attendance.

Each year for the better part of two decades Sawicki Motors donates a car to one lucky Rochelle High School student. Here's how it works for every 9 weeks of perfect attendance. A high school student's name is put into a drawing bin. On Friday they picked out of that bin for several prizes with the grand prize being an 2002 Chevy Cavalier and the lucky winner was a rather stunned hubs freshman Danny Readington.

"I was just feeling like, 'oh my god how did this just happen' I was kind of half hoping to win one of the smaller prizes like a gift card or something like that, but I never thought I'd get the car," Readington.

Readington doesn't even have his license yet he does have his permit and hopes to go for his driving test sometime after his 16th birthday in October.
