Ribbon Cutting for Therapeutic School

BELVIDERE (WIFR) – A school in Belvidere is just getting started.
It’s called the Camelot Therapeutic Day School and it’s in the old Kishwaukee Elementary school building. Local school districts can refer students with special physical or emotional needs. Right now there are about 75 kids enrolled and until this school year, many of them had to travel more than an hour away to get the same kind of attention.

“We also do a lot of social work counseling with our children and we're really able to give them a more supported, close-knit type of school community where students excel,” said Vice President Theresa Mortl Smith.

The site is Camelot’s 7th location in the Chicagoland area.
