ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- As lawmakers get ready for an August vacation. Local Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is saying "thanks but no thanks"
"I know I speak for many when I say the health of the veterans who have served us so bravely should not be placed on hold while congress is away in August," Bustos said.
Bustos is one of 116 lawmakers who called on congress to stay in session until a veterans Healthcare Bill is passed.
Both the house and senate passed bills to address the VA Crisis but they are at a stalemate on finding a compromise.
The two parties agree on much of the bill but they are at odds with each other on how to fund it.
