Recycling Christmas Trees Around the Stateline

STATELINE (WIFR) -- In several Stateline cities, residents are able to recycle their Christmas trees.

Beloit: January 6-17. Place tree curbside by 7 a.m. on your trash day. Trees must be free of stands, bags, lights, garlands, tinsel and ornaments. Trees will also be accepted at the Recycling Drop Off Center, 2351 Springbrook Court, on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning January 11. For more information, call the City of Beloit Public Works Operations Division at (608) 364-2929.

Belvidere: Now through mid-January. Trees can be dropped off at the Public Works Department, 401 Whitney Boulevard.

Freeport: From January 6-17, trees can be dropped off at Knowlton Park, Wilbur Park, Taylor Park, Bidwell Park, Read Park, Lincoln Douglas School and Adams-Float-Iroquois Triangle.

Rockford: Rock River Disposal will include trees in its curbside pickup. Dates will not be set until the week of December 30. It is typically during mid-January. Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful will be collecting at 13 locations in Winnebago County from January 1-15. For a map of the locations, go to knib.org/programs/christmas-tree-recycling
