LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- No worries about low attendance at the Young at Heart Festival. Organizers say they've had record breaking crowds this year thanks in part to the music.
Organizers estimate more than 20,000 people have already been through the gates this year, and it's still not over. That includes hundreds of country music fans who packed in Saturday night to see country crooner Phil Vassar.
The young ones took over the festival Sunday for Kid’s Day.
Organizers say they're always trying to add something new to bring in more people, but say the weather has also been a big help.
"I just think people are more coming to the festival like I say for the weather. It's been such a terrible spring and they just want to get out and this has been a beautiful three days for us so far,” Young at Heart Festival Chair Diana Johnson, said.
The average attendance for all three days of the festival is about 20,000. Organizers predict this year it's going to be about 25,000.
