BYRON (WIFR) -- Operators are investigating the cause of a pump malfunction at the Byron Generating Station.
The Unit 2 reactor was manually shut down Wednesday night to address a problem with the main generator cooling pump. The generator and pump are on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
According to a press release, operators responded as expected and the shutdown was done without incident. Unit 1 is still working
at full power.
