Rauner Makes Campaign Stop in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Campaigning for November's election starts early as GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner stops in Rockford.

Rauner spoke at the Guanajuato Grocery Store on Marchesano Drive earlier today. He was there with his running mate, Evelyn Sanguinetti. Rauner is in the middle of what he's calling a broken promises tour.

"Pat Quinn broke his promise to the people of our state last week when he said he wants to keep the 67 percent income tax increase permanent," Rauner said. "That keeps a very high tax burden on our business owners and our hard-working families here in Rockford and around Illinois."

Rauner says his two campaign promises are to make Illinois a top business growth state and to invest in education.
