STATELINE (WIFR) – We have a better chance of getting promoted with an Associate’s Degree and now a new partnership is making it easier for students to earn one, here in the Stateline.
Two area colleges are partnering to make transferring credits for an Associate’s Degree easier. Now, students who transfer from Rock Valley College to Northern Illinois University won’t lose their credits for a two-year degree. Instead, they can finish their Associate’s degree at NIU with the Rock Valley College name still on their diploma. The school’s leaders say this breaks down barriers for students to complete their education.
Employees with an Associate’s Degree earn almost $600,000 more in salary over a lifetime than those without a diploma, according to new regional and national data.
