ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- You're out of luck, if you were planning to fly from Rockford to Ft. Myers, Florida this winter.
The Chicago Rockford International Airport was not been able to secure an airline to provide service to Southwest Florida. Airport Director Mike Dunn says the main issue was ticket prices, they were just way to expensive. The airport is still working to find an airline to offer flights in the future.
You may remember last spring Direct Air went bankrupt, ending air service to Ft. Myers.
