ROCKFORD (WIFR) – September was a slow month at the Rockford Airport. A new report shows a decrease in the number of people traveling out of the Forest City.
More than 9,600 people used the airport in September, down from last year when 13,000 used the airport. RFD Director Mike Dunn says the numbers are down because of fewer seasonal flights as well as the end of service to Denver.
However, it’s not all bad news. Year to date traffic is up more than 5% over 2012 and flights leaving RFD are about 90% full.
