RAEDC Helping Local Companies Go Global

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- There's a new program to help local companies grow internationally.

It's called the "Global Partner Search" Program, and it's run by the Rockford Area Economic Development Council. It's an international matching program that connects Stateline companies with global businesses, mostly in Rockford's sister city in Lidkoping, Sweden. Right now, most companies enrolled in the program are from overseas. Midwest Aero Support in Machesney Park is the first local company to enroll and RAEDC Director of International Trade Carrie Zethmayr says the program is great for other small and medium size companies.

"This is a good mechanism small and medium size companies that don't have the internal operational and capital infrastructures to launch their own international partner searches. it help them focus on what they do best while we focus on the research for match making."
