ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford business is finding a way to comfort its wounded veterans.
Volunteers at Quilters Haven are putting in their time for a Quilts of Valor Sew-In.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover all combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts.
This was Quilters Haven's first time hosting an event for Quilts of Valor and would like to do it again.
"There's so many men who have been wounded and could use a quilt and use that comfort and I feel like that's something that I can do and a lot of the other ladies who are getting together this weekend can do to give back, and give back to people who have given so much of their lives for us," said Quilters Haven co-owner Stephanie Gauerke.
Quilts of Valor will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year and has given over 86,000 quilts to wounded veterans.
