LAS VEGAS (CBS) -- There is major movement to bring immigration reform to congress.
President Obama is hitting the road to rally support for immigration reform.
He's expected to endorse a bi-partisan senate proposal to give approximately 11 million illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.
The so-called "Gang of Eight" announced its plan yesterday.
It would allow illegal immigrants to gain temporary legal status if they pass a criminal background check, pay a fine and back taxes, and learn English.
They can then apply to become a citizen behind people who started the process legally.
The proposal also calls for U.S. borders to be secured.
