ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Winning Powerball numbers were drawn tonight.

Over $600 million. That's the amount of money that was on the line in tonight's Powerball drawing which had some area gas stations busy all day selling tickets.

Whether it was playing their lucky numbers or taking a random chance with a quick pick ticket, people all over the Stateline were taking a shot at a fortune tonight. The estimated $600 million jackpot is the second largest jackpot total since last year's $656 million dollar winning draw. Some people in the area took a moment to tell us what they would do if they won all that cash.

"I'd take my family away. I'd buy and island,” Shell Gas station manager Linda Heavlin said. “I'd tie it to the church, and I'd set up a foundation."

"Might go buy my dream car,” Tari Taylor said. “A Roush Mustang."

“Probably like go around the world,” Tari’s husband Kurt said. “Start in Hawaii, go, you know, to the orient. Africa, maybe; that sounds exciting."

The chances you bought a winner tonight are 1:175,000,000 according to Northstar Lottery Group.

Good Luck.
