Police Union Donates Backpacks to Rockford Students

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford's police union is using some of its donations to help prepare students going back to class.

Volunteers handed out 200 backpacks stuffed with supplies on Tuesday at Kishwaukee Elementary School. The supplies came from local Target stores. The money was raised during events earlier this year like "Shop with a Cop".

Union members will also be handing out a few hundred more backpacks with supplies at Ellis School Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
