SOUTH BELOIT (WIFR) -- A different grocery store gets the green light to open its doors in South Beloit, a move that should create hundreds of jobs.
The South Beloit City Council unanimously approved plans for the proposed complex on Willowbrook Road. The outdoor mall will be anchored by a Meijer along with small stores around it.
A representative for the chain said at Monday night's meeting that the store should create 250 full and part time jobs. Building permits still need to be issued for the project. The goal is to open the Meijer there in early 2016.
