DURAND (WIFR) -- A crash landing sends a wayward pelican to the Stateline to recoup, but before sending it on to "Hoo" Haven in Durand, the people who found the critter, nick named it Pepsi.

Volunteers at "Hoo" Haven say Pepsi flew into some power lines and injured its wing. It happened in Erie, Illinois. While its wing heals, Pepsi will stay just outside "Hoo"Haven's pool. Now, Pelicans can eat up to 10 to 20 percent of their body mass each day. So "Hoo"Haven is asking for donations of fresh or frozen fish.
