ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Baseball is back at Rockford's historic Beyer Stadium.
Opening ceremonies were held Saturday morning for the Peach Orchard Classic. Rockford's very own Starfires is one of the six women's baseball teams from across the U.S. and Canada going head-to-head in the weekend tournament.
Kristin Tredrick, Rockford Starfires, says its great to play ball right where the Rockford Peaches did back in 1950's.
"It is a blessing that I am able to play where the Rockford Peaches used to play. Just out there to have fun."
The teams will play two games Sunday at Beyer Stadium and Marinelli Field, before the championship game on Labor Day.
