LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- Two big events in Loves Park are bringing in nearly half-a-million dollars for our area.
If you saw a lot of kids dressed in uniform inside local restaurants and stores. It’s because nearly 7,000 soccer players are competing at Sportscore Two this weekend for the SuperClubs Rockford Champions Cup. The tournament filled more than 2,000 hotel rooms. 150 teams from multiple states were involved in the event.
Another event, just feet away from the tournament, brought in thousands of people. Rock-Con wrapped up today. It's a role playing convention at the Indoor Sports Center. Guests from all over competed.
