BYRON (WIFR) -- Employees at the Byron nuclear power plant roll out the welcome mat for Stateline families so they can learn more about what goes on inside the generating station.
About three hundred families walked through the plant's training center during an open house on Sunday. Experts from different sections of the facility answered questions about what it takes to keep the nuclear plant running. The most popular spot during the tour was the plant's control simulator. There, employees demonstrated how they handle emergencies such as an earthquake or tornado.
