UPDATE: Beloit Police are looking for two men involved in a gang-related shooting over the weekend.
They tell us they were in a white sedan when they pulled up to two people walking down St. Lawrence Avenue.
They flashed a gang sign and shot one of the pedestrians in the leg.
Police say the victims aren’t in a gang and didn’t know the guys. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
BELOIT (WIFR)—A Beloit man was shot in the leg around 1 p.m. on Saturday while he and his friend were out on a walk.
It happened near the intersection of St. Lawrence Avenue and Moore Street in Beloit, WI. Police say two men were walking when a white four door car drove up and started shooting at them. That’s when the victims took off running.
Police also say that the shooters displayed gang signs and yelled gang related phrases during the incident. The victims indicate they have no gang affiliation.
The 19 year old victim was shot in the leg and the 20 year old friend did not suffer any injuries.
The suspects are described as such:
Suspect 1: Light-skinned Hispanic man, 23 years old. He had a short faded hairstyle and no facial hair.
Suspect 2: Darker-skinned Hispanic man, in his 20s, stocky build. He had “well-groomed” chin strap style beard and was last seen wearing a blue ball cap, a blue button up shirt, and a South Pole “puffy” coat with the letters “PF” on the right side.
