JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the Southbound area of 1-39 in Rock County about 2 a.m. Sunday morning for a single auto crash. When Police arrived they found the one of the four occupants of a red Ford pickup deceased.

The pickup was traveling on the ramp to 1-39 southbound from USH-14 and while the driver was trying to merge his tires lost control due to wet pavement. The pickup then slid off the road into the ditch where it came to rest tangled in chain-linked fence. At some point during the incident the right side passenger was ejected from the truck and killed on impact.

The other three occupants were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The release of the victim's name is pending the notification of family members.
