Obama to Tap Pritzker, Froman for Economic Jobs

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A White House official says President Barack Obama will name a longtime fundraiser to run the Commerce Department and a top economic adviser as the next U.S. Trade Representative.

Commerce nominee Penny Pritzker is a Chicago businesswoman who helped raise money for Obama's two presidential campaigns.

USTR nominee Mike Froman currently serves as Obama's deputy national security adviser for international economics.

Obama will announce both nominations from the White House Thursday morning before departing for Mexico.

The official insisted on anonymity in order to discuss the nominations ahead of Obama.
