Obama Includes Funding for Thomson Prison Activation in 2014 Budget Proposal

WASHINGTON D.C. (WIFR) – President Obama unveiled his 2014 Fiscal Budget today. It includes $166 million dollars to fund the opening of Thomson Prison and two other prisons.

That’s about how much the feds paid when it bought Thomson from the State of Illinois last year. The feds plan to spend $25 million in renovations in 2014 and then $116 million in 2015, when the prison opens, on equipment and staffing.
