STONE PARK, Ill. (AP) -- A group of nuns is leading a protest march to a neighboring strip club in suburban Chicago to press their case that it should be closed.
The group of about 40 protesters said a prayer and then stepped off from the convent of the Missionary Sisters of Saint Charles. They marched the short distance to Club Allure Chicago in the suburb of Stone Park.
Members of the group gave speeches in Spanish and English, talking about how they say the club has hurt the community.
The nuns filed a lawsuit last week against the owners of the club and the village of Stone Park, alleging that the establishment violates zoning laws requiring a 1,000-foot buffer between adult entertainment venues and places of worship.
