Number of Female Truck Drivers Rising

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The number of female truck drivers out on the road has increased about 15% over the last ten years according to federal data and one Stateline woman is being noticed for that.

Lanark Woman Breann Eubanks will be featured in an upcoming trucking magazine. The article in Women in Trucking Magazine will follow her around for the day. She works for ROEHL Transport in Wisconsin. Eubanks says with the shortage in the trucking industry, more women could easily find jobs as a truck driver.

“Women can drive. It takes a little bit of learning to learn the rules and it’s nice to see women out here and it’s nice to show everybody we can drive trucks,” said Eubanks.

The magazine writer followed her today starting in Rockford and out to Hammond, Indiana.
