DIXON (WIFR) -- The Dixon teachers strike has reached day eight and it looks like that number is going to keep climbing.
A spokesperson for the Dixon Education Association tells 23 News that the two sides met for five hours Monday afternoon and no progress was made on a contract. There is also no future meeting currently scheduled.
In a press release Dixon's Superintendent Michael Juenger said the union will not return to the bargaining table until the board accepts their latest offer of a four year contract with a 4% raise each year. The board's latest offer is a two year deal with a 2% increase each year. Health insurance costs remain another major sticking point.
