STATELINE (WIFR) -- A warning from authorities, if you get a call, email, or fax threatening your arrest, it's a scam.
The U.S. District Court in Chicago says victims are contacted by scam artists claiming to be law enforcement officials. The thieves claim you missed jury duty or were involved in money laundering or bank fraud. They say if you don't pay up you'll be arrested.
Authorities remind us valid arrest warrants are always served in person.
