ROCKFORD (WIFR)--

New car sales are expected to rise 6% this year according to the National Automobile Dealers Association, and Rockford is already seeing signs of improvement.

Anderson Hyundai on Perryville Road says car sales this month compared of January of 2013 are already 10%.

The dealerships General Manager, Tony Arbisi, says he expects to see a 25% increase in new car sales this year.

According to the National Automobile Dealers Association sales are rising because employment is rising, a growing economy and better incentives on new cars.

"We're having a pretty good January right now out there despite the weather. We had a good December and we look forward for at least a 25% increase in 2014 than over 2013 here at our dealership."

Anderson Hyundai says they expect to sell a lot more Elantra, Tuscon and Veloster model Hyundai's in 2014 because of the new body styles. They also say people could see 0% APR for new cars loans extending 60-72 months.
